Last november, the official Sesame Workshop website included a Sesame Street video section, in which fans could watch hundreds of Sesame Street video clips. Now there is a new website, sesamestreet.org, featuring more video clips, original video footage, games, info on characters, epsidoe guides for seasons 35-38, and more. The site was reportedly planned to debut on august 11. but it's online now.

It is a lot better han the old video site (though the website still refers to it as a "beta" version). It includes more Kermit the Frog clips, plus clips with characters not previously on the site, including Teeny Little Superguy and Don Music. There is a section where people can read about certain characters, and most of those pages provide links to clips with those characters, but some (including Bruno and Countess Dahling von Dahling) don't provide links to clips. In a similar piece of odd information, if you go to the video part of the site and search under characters, there are images of the main Muppets to click on, plus a smaller box with other characters, including some that don't show any results. This includes a few of the shows most obscure characters, including Aristotle and Leslie Mostly.

Reportedly it is planned for the site to have 10,000 clips by the end of 2009. So if you are a Sesame Street fan, I recommend going to the site now.

The link seems dead to me...

Actually it's seeming that the site is getting swamped with traffic and periodically going down. That's good in a way (that so many people are interested) and bad in another (they can't handle all that interest.) I'm sure they'll get everything worked out before long.

I seemed to have those kinds of problems a few tiems today.
