Make of it what you will but CN apparently kicked out the old VP of programming and hired Marc Buhaj, who handled programming/scheduling for Turner Networks in Asia. The Cartoon Network Japan programming, suffice to say, is 2000 times more reasonable than the one we have here:

While still having a block for 2-6 year olds and an abundance of Cartoon Cartoons, it also has a lot of timeslots for Popeye, Looney Tunes, Pink Panther, Tom & Jerry. Essentially their schedule has the same goals as our country's; it's just they do it BETTER.

I'm not guaranteeing anything and I'm not about to start any sort of argument/flame war. But clearly even Cartoon Network has become fed up with how mundane, unbalanced, and idiotic their scheduling has become, and they brought in a pro to clean up the mess.

That would be nice. I really hope they do something. I used to love Cartoon Network, I like other things besides the old stuff, you know. But they just air so much crap...Baby Looney Tunes airs every day, yet they don;t air the originals at all. They don't show the better Cartoon Cartoons anymore, and I was a big fan of Courage the Cowardly Dog. They dumped the Flintstones. They acquire new stuff, but it's never anything GOOD...and they run the same things, over and over. Every time I tune in, it's bad anime. They just need to balance things out a little more.

Well, that line is left in... but not with the original voice! They dub most of the Mammy cartoons (including Midnight Snack) with a new voice to correct her grammar - and even sometimes mute her voice out! (like in Nit-Witty Kitty when Mammy sneaks up on Tom with the baseball bat)

Sylvester and Tweety mysteries is airing again now. :(

Perhaps this guy could actually put Looney Tunes back on the schedule. I doubt it, but I hope that happens.

I would love to have "The Popeye Show" and "Late Night Black and White" back on CN (hopefully in an hour-long series).
