You know, it comes to my attention that a certain duck NEVER did get a good birthday thread around here. :shame:

So, to round out the birthday bash, happy birthday to a duck who either a good laugh at the end, or beated all the way to the sunset at the end, with questionable speeches, or speaking clearly in another media. :donald:

And, if you're still reading this, how about recommending a couple of fans some good shorts (reasons would be nice) and some good comics to celebrate this occasion?

Good Donald shorts huh?

Der Fuhrer's Face - obviously, no disputing this one
Soups On - one of the best of the Donald/nephew shorts
Donald's Dilemma - "I didnt want to live!!"
Cured Duck - just to see Donald tear apart Daisy's house
Symphony Hour - it may be a Mickey short but Donald has the best scenes
No Hunting - "What's mother doing?"
The Vanishing Private - always nice to see Donald get the best of Pete
Trombone Trouble - "Power! Power! Power!!!"

Some Mickey Shorts with memorable Donald Duck moments:
"The Orphan's Benefit"
"The Band Concert"
"Mickey's Amateurs"
"Mickey's Circus"
"The Orphan's Picnic"
"Magician Mickey"

There were a few memorable "Disneyland" shows about Donald:
"This is Your Life, Donald Duck"
and another where the viewer spends the day at the Disney Studio with Donald, featuring Donald getting into an argument with Clarence Nash and the "Quack, Quack, Quack! Donald Duck!" song.

And a few DuckTales episodes highlighting Donald:
"Sphinx For the Memories"
"Spies in their Eyes"
"All Ducks on Deck" (also featuring the animated debut of Mickey's nemesis, The Phantom Blot)

As for comic books, these may take some effort to track them down:
the ten-pagers by Daan Jippes and Fred Milton
Volker Reiche's 4 or 5 Donald 10 pagers
"In the Footsteps of Jules Verne" (art by Ben Verhagen)
"The Weighted Crate Mystery" and "Adventure on Bomb Bird Island" by Tony Strobl
and of course, most stories by Carl Barks are worth reading
