I like the Popeye sets but....

a lot of the openings are fake!

In the fake openings, it looks like it has been a high-resolution Photoshop digital recreation!

If anyone who saw Popeye in the movie theater and noticed this digital opening, they would go nuts!

The dissolves to the series title card looks unnatural. The way it dissolves hasn't been used in Popeye, it was used in cartoons such as this Fleischer SCREEN SONG:

It's too bad that the movie studios made the mistake of getting TV distrubtors to buy out!

However, I will say this:
For the DVD, there are real openings on the early Popeyes (1933-1934), plus the Color Features (ALI BABA, SINDBAD), some cartoons on each disc, and I believe "Little Swee'pea" and "I Never Changes My Altitude" have the original titles.

When they recreate is because no original elements survive.
I close this thread right now before you let it degenerate.
