Hi,

According to TVShowsonDVD.com, the sixth LTGC volume may have 19 cartoons per disc instead of 15, bringing the grand total of cartoons in this forthcoming collection to 76 (!). More bang for our buck, ain't it?

Also of note that among the 76 cartoons to be showcased here, expect more rare shorts, according to Jerry Beck, such as "Russian Rhapsody," "Much Ado About Nutting" (the last WB short to use Bob Clampett's closing iris-out sound effect), "Rah! Rah! Rooster" (with Rhode Island Red), "Crowing Pains," "The Oily American," "It's Hummer Time" and "Norman Normal." Sounds like we could be getting more Foghorn Leghorn shorts pretty soon...

See it all here (to be treated as rumors at this time):

If you read the thread about Jerry Beck's last radio interview you'll find we are way ahead of you with such scoops:) .
The mentioned cartoons and the number of shorts included are official news. They have no more time to change their plans now. And Jerry mentioned these particular news without any "I guess" or "I think" but starting with "There will be...";)

I wouldn't call most of the announced shorts rare. Sure, they may be rarer now, as Looney Tunes are hardly on television anymore, but with the main exception of Norman Normal (and possibly ones that have titles I am unfamiliar with, like The Oily American), many of them were common or semi-commonly shown on television (back when Looney Tunes were commonly broadcast).

Recently some fans have been worried that Warner Bros. will eventually release the Golden Collections as two-disc sets, due to the Popeye sets going from four to two discs, but with there being more cartoons per disc then hopefully we don't have to worry. There are more cartoons, and if they eventually start releasing these as two-disc sets, we'll have 38 cartoons instead of 30 (and maybe the sets will eventually start having more than 76 cartoons).

I just hope that this one doesn't have a Bugs Bunny themed disc, whether shared with another character or not. That would help the Bugs Bunny cartoons run out faster. Now I really hope that this set has an all-stars disc for disc 1 as opposed to a Bugs Bunny disc.

I'm pretty sure there will be an all-star disc. At least judging from the fact that two (we know two for sure but they could obviously be more) Foghorn Leghorn shorts will be included and that no Foghorn disc will be in the collection.

I am closing this thread since this topic is already being discussed in the Jerry Beck/Shokus Radio thread (http://forums.goldenagecartoons.com/showthread.php?t=11331) which is still active. No need for two threads.
