Well, thanks to a suggestion by The Chase, this week's Hit/Miss poll will be for one of my favorite Freleng-directed Bugs cartoons: Rabbit Transit.
I voted "Hit" (or "Victory"), of course. This cartoon is especially unique in that it's probably the only Bugs Bunny cartoon (Hare Brush hardly counts) where the little gray rabbit actually plays the "bad guy." He acts like an arrogant jerk in the beginning, with Cecil naturally defending himself. And, even though Bugs wins the race, he ultimately loses the battle. The rabbit has some great one-liners in this cartoon (such as his mock flattery when receiving Cecil's Christmas card), and the ending is one of my all-time favorites in a Bugs Bunny cartoon.

Er, there are some Clampett cartoons where Bugs is the "bad guy", like "Buckaroo Bugs."

Plus Bugs is the Bad Guy in Fresh Hare (and the cartoon ends with about to be shot by the firing squad

1) Couldn't we have one every month instead than "every week"? (Gee, it's already something. We used to have them almost every day)
2) What? No Daffy and Speedy cartoons? Are you the genuine article or someone else is using your account?

By the way, I voted defeat. It wasn't a good end to the great first two shorts.

Suits me just fine.

Why? Do you want a Daffy/Speedy poll?

Easily one of my fave Bugs/Cecil cartoons. Avery and Clampett did wonders with their shorts but there's something about this 'toon that comes across as cleverly written (probably due to Maltease and Pierce who penned this). And of course, even when Bugs won, he lost! :D
That and both rabbit and tortoise had some funny lines equally. My fave has to be when Cecil discovers that Bugs stole his jet-propelled shell:
"Hey...that rabbit's got a shall just like...Hey! It is my...Ooooh! Eeeeh! Nuuuuh....yipe!"

It's tough a defeat for me. "Rabbit Transit" being a less good Bugs/Cecil short than the two previous cartoons. It's one of my least favourites Bugs Bunny cartoons too.

First of all, you're welcome.
Now, to the short, and it wins a Victory (Hit) to me. Personally, I don't know why many people dislike this cartoon, I thought it was hilarious! I mean, once you get pass that this is no Tortoise Wins By A Hare, this cartoon isn't that bad. I don't know, maybe it's the fact that Bugs being the jerk in this one is uncomfortable to some people. I mean, at least it's better than what Freleng would give us later. ;)

All three Cecil shorts are hits!

Complete and utter failure, particularly in comparison to either of it's predecesors. The Avery and Clampett are in my top five all time favorite Bugs (the only Bugs Clampett near the top). This is one of my least favorite pre 1957 Bugs.

In-between. But I voted hit.

Hit, though it's the weakest of the Cecil trilogy.
I just watched this cartoon today and I really like it. It's fun to watch both characters cheat their way to the finish line with their elaborate dirty tricks and there's some funny gags along the way. I'm surprised so many cartoon fans seem to dislike it – maybe for some it's just one too many times for Bugs and Cecil to be recreating "The Tortoise and The Hare".

My favorite lines:
That did it! Listen snail!....
...I...I...Wanna race?

That and the fact that Bugs is arguably the loser at the end.
