No, I'm not talking about cartoons about cars portrayed as human beings (i.e., "Streamlined Greta Green", "Susie the Little Blue Coupe", "One Cab's Family", "The Story of Anyburg, U.S.A.", the 2006 feature Cars, etc.). Rather, what are some cartoons we can think of that deal with people behind the wheel driving as the theme of the cartoon? Immediately, there are some that come to my mind.
Motor Mania (Disney/1950)
Freewayphobia (Disney/1965)
Goofy's Freeway Troubles (Disney/1965)
There Auto be a Law (WB/1953)
Two Weeks Vacation (Disney/1952)
Car of Tomorrow (MGM/1951)
Wimmen Hadn't Oughta Drive (Fleischer/1940)
Car-azy Drivers (Famous/1955)
Double Cross Country Race (Famous/1951)
Taxi-Turvy (Famous/1954)
Mutts About Racing (MGM/1958)
Donald's Tire Trouble (Disney/1943)
Lucky Number (Disney/1951)
Thumb Fun (WB/1952)
Maw and Paw (Lantz/1953)
Tumbleweed Greed (Lantz/1969)
Hippydrome Tiger (WB/1968)
The Screwdriver (Lantz/1941)
Ration Bored (Lantz/1943)
The Reckless Driver (Lantz/1946)
Well Oiled (Lantz/1947)
Victory Vehicles (Disney/1943) sort of qualifies since it deals with a number of vehicles to REPLACE the car since WWII-era rationing and conservation, etc. have rendered the automobile "out of service".
Can anyone think of any others?

Porky's Road Race (1937/WB) and Bosko The Speed King (1933/WB) are two more examples.

A good deal of "Bugs and Thugs" qualifies...

Not a very popular cartoon, I know, but "Tangled Travels" (Columbia/1944) qualifies as well (The travelogue director films most of his picture driving through the U.S. from his car).

Disney's Motor Mania is my favourite, followed by Tex Avery's One Cab's Family, then Thumb Fun and if that counts Bugs and Thugs.

A great deal of "Porky and Gabby" is spent on the road.

The Spinach Roadster (Fleischer)
Mickey's Trailer (Disney)

"Donald's Tire Trouble" is in some parts a very hilarious short especially at the end when he being angered to his tires' cars.
Well, cartoons included vehicles:
Hare Do (WB, 1949)
Dog Gone People (WB, 1960)
Red Riding Hoodwinked (WB, 1955)
Hot Rod Huckster (Lantz, 1954)
Tweet and Sour (WB, 1956)
Put-Put Pink (Depatie/Freleng, 1968)
Pink Pistons (Depatie/Freleng, 1966)
Rushing Roulette (WB, 1965)

Rushing Roulette (WB, 1965)
Which, if you really want to deal with that oeuvre, pales next to "Sugar & Spies"...

If Mickey's trailer counts as a car-toon, I add that on my favs list.

Before we get too far astray, I meant cartoons that deal with vehicle-driving as the theme (i.e. main plot) of the cartoon. Cartoons that only have one or two scenes of car driving or a set-up of car driving that segues into the cartoon's main plot (i.e. bull-fighting or wabbit chasing) aren't quite qualified.

Dog Collared might qualify, the toon has a massive driving-a-car gag in the middle (one of the funniest ones IMHO).

I suppose any episode of the 1968 HB TV series "Wacky Races" would qualify as well.....

Indeed. Wacky Races was one of the very few H-B TV show I liked. :)

Then there's lesser stuff like Motormouse & Autocat. (Not to mention Speed Racer.)
While straying from Matt the Y's clarification, how could I raise "Sugar & Spies" without mentioning the hot rod in "Out & Out Rout"...

A trailer is not a self-propelled conveyance as is an automobile. Therefore it would not qualify in this category. It would if the discussion were about traveling/vacation cartoons.

"Hoppy Jalopy" (Harmon) :sailor:
"Motor Knocks" (Kneitel) :sailor:
"Spoil Sport" (Deitch) :sailor:

If one wants, there's always the Bugs Bunny-Road Runner Show outro with Bugs in the car being rammed by Wile E.'s backfiring radar machine...
