View Full Version : Favorite Inki Cartoon
The "Chase"

After seeing Caveman Inki again, and the fact there's no discussion on Inki and that bird, I think it's a good idea to put one up.
I'll put mine later.
Edit: It's Inki at the Circus. Yet, to explain why, look at the other posts on this thread, and just watch it, for the reason of the dog and the bird. (you guys just took the lines out of my mouth, so, that's that.)

"Inki At The Circus" really stands out among the Inki cartoons, since it's the only one in which Inki is not hunting something. He's the one being hunted. I like the idea of the dog bone chase that Chuck used in some other cartoons, as well as Inki's new starring partners. All the other shorts are variations on one theme.

"Inki at the Circus", hands down. Lively and jaunty, weird and off-beat as only an Inki cartoon could be and those dog characters are hilarious. Carl Stalling's music score in this one is especially great; love his quoting of "The Merry Carousel" when the first dog first goes to bury Inki's hair bone into the ground until he then discovers the other second dog has dug it up. Then his score segues into an equally great quoting of Raymond Scott's "In an 18th Century Drawing Room". :D The tightrope-walking and trapeze-swinging scenes are also equally priceless.

What was the Inki cartoon where a bunch of animals chase Inki?
I saw an AAP print of it on a "Tweety and Friends" PD tape.
By the way, a UAV tape cover of "Daffy Duck and Pals" spelled it on the back cover like the Pac-Man ghost with the same American dubbed name (or should I say, "homophone")
I've always liked "Inki and the Minah Bird", it's rather surreal for a Chuck Jones cartoon of the time. Sure, it doesn't really make sense, but then that's actually the strong point of this cartoon IMHO.
I've never see an Inki cartoon, although I've been wanting to for ages. I suppose they're on YouTube, but I reckon they'll be on a Golden Collection eventually so I'll wait for the high quality restored versions. Maybe they'll have one on the next volume?
I've always thought Inki at the Circus (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KqIEr4ApesI) was one of the very best Chuck Jones cartoons.

The only one I've seen is Caveman Inki. But it's a very good cartoon. So I guess, by process of elimination, that would be my favorite Inki cartoon. :)

I haven't seen this one yet, but very good. The airedale is a very typical Jones character from this era.

The last three Inki cartoons are really good, so it's a tough choice. I'm going to go with Inki At the Circus, though.

or just a little boy...I always thought he was a little boy but the "African Wild Man" makes me wonder if he is instead a pygmy...
