In honor of the centennial...
What are your favorite Tex Avery Cartoons?

Mine are...

Thugs With Dirty Mugs- What's not to love about this, such a great skewering of the gangster film genre and the seriousness of movies in general... with a floy-floy.

Northwest Hounded Police- My favorite Droopy cartoon, with such wild takes that it's amazing. Tex's fast-paced humor is at its peak... he's under that rock...:droopy: :wolfie:
Here's hoping for a Tex Avery set... or at LEAST a disc in the next Golden Collection.
I'll probably be back to add more of my favorites later.

Edit- I know a thread like this was done a while ago, but I decided to make a new one in honor of Tex's centennial.

Bad Luck Blackie
Magical Maestro
Who Killed Who?
Doggone Tired
King-Size Canary
Blitz Wolf
Screwball Squirrel
Lonesome Lenny
Out-Foxed
Homesteader Droopy
Rock-a-bye Bear
Wild and Woolfy
Legend of Rock-a-bye Point

These are my favourite masterpieces. But I love basically all Avery cartoon after the MGM switch (including the Lantz ones), with the exception of some later MGM cartoons like the lacklustre tomorrow series.

I know. The man made literally so few cartoons that weren't phenominal. "Cellbound" is my favorite MGM one but "Crazy Mixed up Pup" from the Lantz studio might be my favorite cartoon of his, period. I can't say enough about 4 measly cartoons in this case. Those last 4 cartoons he did at Lantz ARE among his best work, rather than just being the last 4 cartoons he ever made before quitting at the other studio...

How about the most underrated Tex cartoons?

I'd give a nod to "Tortoise Beats Hare"--it gets a bad rap for "miscasting" Bugs, and is perhaps overshadowed by subsequent Bugs/Cecil outings; but I feel it deserves credit for demonstrating how broad the parameters could be for depicting this new star character. "A Wild Hare" introduced him merely as Elmer's ideal nemesis; "TBH" proved his versatility--just compare to "Elmer's Pet Rabbit" and you'll see how truly precocious Tex's depiction (perhaps the first true "Clampett-style" Bugs) was.

It's amazing how Tex Avery made consistently great cartoons throughout his whole career. I can't name a cartoon of his that fails to offer at least some amusement to me.

I don't care if it's a blackout gag cartoon, "TV of Tomorrow" is one of the greatest cartoons ever. It takes full advantage of the fact that it's a cartoon, especially in the scenes where it combines live action and animation (like the commercial disposal).

I've often wondered whose hand that was in the disposal gag. Could it have been Avery's himself?
