We all know that there's a new Popeye, Archie and Woody Woodpecker sets on the way for the new year but, there's no tellin' what to expect in 2008
here's my predictions
------------------------
20th Century Fox Home Entertainment will release the complete DVD set of "The Alvin Show"
Viacom concededs and releases a DVD boxset of various Terrytoons

I predict that every single Happy Hooligan strip ever made will be assembled in one large collector's volume for all to read. I predict that all Famous Studios cartoons and non-Popeye Fleischers, including Betty Boop, will be painstakingly restored (and found) and released in a huge multi-DVD set that nobody will be able to afford in an obscure corner in Liechtenstein. I predict that the lost Disney and Winkler Oswalds will turn up in that 800-year-old sunken ship off the coast of China, and the space bubble that was used to preserve them. I precict that archeologists will tear apart former Los Angeles dumps in the search for Indian artifacts, and stuble upon several lead-lined coffins filled with enough gold to get all countries in North America out of their national debts. I predict that this money will be spent getting us deeper into debt. Finally, I predict an end to all predictions.
(Of course, I have been known to be wrong.)

We will never see any Terrytoons officially released. I'll put money on it.

Just you watch that stuff around me, bub! ;)
(P.S.: Need I remind any GACers of longer standing about what was done with "Billy Mouse's Akwakade," non-profit wise, in 2007?) :D

I predict that Looney Tunes will be back on television by the Spring, but not on CN this time.

I predict well see Donald Duck's last volume and a Rarities Volume 2 next year.
I think that's a little more likely than, say, the Terrytoon idea.

Well if that happens, you can amplify the joy by buying my Bray Rarities Volume 3 DVD, which has a small handful of Happy Hooligan cartoons. ;)
As always, I predict many more lost cartoons will be found, especially the silents. I always put my best foot forth when it comes to tracking those down...as do many of my informal historian/collector "colleagues"! :felix:

-A new theatical Oswald cartoon with an updated design announced(one can dream:rabbit: ).I'm wondering how Oswald will fit into the contemporary Disney stable.
Would his design look similar to the current Mickey one (hand drawn)?
What would be his personality (there's not much to it in the silents)?

We know we will have Popeye 2, Woody 2 and LTGC 6.
I hope that we'll have another wave of the Treasures with the fourth volume of Donald, possibly a third volume of Popeye (two sets per year were once scheduled so who knows?) and maybe of Woody too and I do really hope about a Tex Avery set.

I dunno, MF Toon. We most likely will not see a Terry release in 2008, but Mighty Mouse and Hekle and Jekle are pretty well known characters, IMO. We may see an official release in the years to come.

We can still hope. I wonder if they could mentionned the Jim Tyer's animation.

I doubt CGI would happen since Disney is returning to hand-drawn animated shorts.

I love CGI if it's done right, but I won't like it if they make Oswald "Hip"...
Even though it could be hillarious having Oswald with some bling and rims...

Oswald the Lucky Thug? Geez, I can see the marketing now. And there's an obvious Rabbit Ho comment that's best left unwritten.
I can safely predict the reaction here if it happens. It's about as easy as predicting that in 2008, people will post a bunch of off-topic polls.
