Had a nice surprise awaiting me in my mailbox as my DVD came today! An early Christmas present to myself. Can't wait to check it out! Thanks for all your hard work, Steve! :)

Cool! I'd love to hear what you think. This one was fun to put together- the one bad thing is that I can't get the Meany Miny Moe theme out of my head... ("just three monkeys from the stix.... nuthin' more than jungle hicks, but they know a lotta tricks....)

The "Crackerjack prize" was a fun touch! :bosko:

Cool! Glad you liked it. Every cartoony person needs a 'real' piece to go with all the digital stuff. What one did you get?

I have tried to e-mail Steve Stanch on his steve@thunderbeananimation.com address to purchase a copy of the new "Return of the 30s Characters" DVD but got no response. I would greatly appreciate some information on where to send the $14.95 so I can get that out in the mail. I am very interested in this disc and would like to get it before it goes to Amazon because I've had problems with Amazon in the past. I've also tried to send a private message, but got a notice that says I can't until he makes some space. Can anyone out there help? I'd sure appreciate it.

What did you folks think of the dvd, and has anyone (besides the diehard film collectors here) seen a piece of real Cinecolor film before?

Recieved my copy today.
Having never seen Toby the Pup, I was looking forward to this one.
Seems the Fleischer influence is still stong on Dick Huemor at this point.
Even Toby looks very similar to an early version of Bimbo.
And there's lots of bouncing holds on characters.
Balloonland- I'm curious as to who worked on this one (besides Stallings).
Puddy the Pup- I haven't really seen this period of Terrytoons. It's not bad at all.
So is this the final version of the DVD?
I noticed a few things:
The info page for The Museum is hard to read. Perhaps a color overlay is missing from this one?
When BremenTown Musicians ended it automatically started over.
I had to play and select the next cartoon to move forward.
The back cover credits:
Meany Miny & Moe appears to have a baseline shift at the end.
There also appears to be an extra space before Balloonland.
I couldn't figure out what film my particular prize was.
It appears to be a woman on a camel in a mideast city.
Overall, a good job and an interesting collection of cartoons.
...has anyone (besides the diehard film collectors here) seen a piece of real Cinecolor film before?Nope. I used to handle 8mm home movie film and whatever kind of film my elementary school used to use.

Cinecolor prints are the bomb, especially when the frame lines bleed onto the picture :D (I'm a baaaaaaad boooooy)
But yes, the 16mms are pretty cool...nothing beats projecting them.
