Can't U.M. & M. get credits right? In reviewing early 1940's Famous Studios cartoons that had U.M. & M. retitled prints I've noticed a lot of miss-spellings.
Reuben Grossman gets his last name listed as "Crossman".
Lou Zukor gets his last name listed as "Zoukor".
Otto Feuer gets his last name listed as "Fever".
My favorite is "Featuring Casper's Friendly Ghost".

Makes you think the title card work was done by Borat's grandfather. ;)
The UM&M and AAP titles were pretty good in copying the wording they were pasted over, minus the Paramount references, as far as who or what was on the credits. How they used spelling and grammar were another story.

There are some horrendous name misspellings on a couple of the UM&M retitled Little Lulus I got from The G Man a while back as well; Steve Mufatti becomes "Steve Mafatti" on Super Lulu and Al Eugster becomes "Al Engster" on The Baby Sitter.
It's also my understanding that UM&M omitted Mufatti's name entirely from Tarts and Flowers. Sounds like he's the Rodney Dangerfield of Famous animators when it comes to redone titles.

Ken,
Your complaint sounds as if this is an ongoing thing in the present. U.M.& M/NTA no longer exits, so they can no longer be blamed. The damage was done 50 years ago, and has remained in all of the 16mm prints that have been issued ever since. The last printing for television was in the mid 1960s. And the last non-theatrcial exposure was in the Ivy Films catalog in 1972. While Paramount has reacquired these cartoons with the Viacom holdings, they are presently "licensed" to Lion's Gate, who does not seem interested in doing anything with them. This includes all the pre 1950 Famous and Fleischer cartoons (excepting POPEYE and SUPERMAN) and the Terrytoons library.

We should care more for their current status rather than to still dwell on the irrelevency of the materials (much like I wish the guys who are obsessed with "closing logos" (http://closinglogos.blogspot.com/) should get a life).

Oh yeah i remember this titles. They also hidden the original studio name from the existing shorts. I wonder if one day we got from their original titles without this fake titles.

And not only that, the only credited animator on that one is "G. Germanetti" - not George, but G.
But back then, who cared?
