I wasn't sure whether or not this belonged here or in the Looney Bin, so I understand if it needs to be moved. Anyway, I was wondering, do you guys remember these?

I can't even remember where their from, but we have a bunch at my parents' house, and still use them occasionally. Does anyone remember who was selling/giving them away? And does anybody else actually still drink out of them?:bugs1:

Eh...I'm seeing a PURSE in that picture. The one Bugs carries when he's in drag, maybe? :bugs1: Anyway, I know what you're talking about and I have one. Those glasses seem to be fairly common, and they were a promo for Bugs' 50th birthday in 1990. I don't know who made/issued them, though.

dang, I was hoping I'd fix it before anybody read this, my photobucket was acting quite bizzare. Oh well, it's fixed now. That must have seemed quite odd with that purse.

Got 4 of 'em, and yep, I do. Even cooler are the "Acme Cola" ones, shaped like old-style diner Coke glasses. "Drink Acme Cola, good for life," they say, with a blue "5¢" tag and a winking Bugs holding a fizzling glass of pop. They have a '93 WB copyright. I must have picked them up from the Warner mail-order catalog back then. Mys guess is I got the 50th Ann'y ones from the same source. Surprised I haven't smashed any of them yet.

I got mine at a gas station, I am almost sure.:bugs1:That's what I thought too, but then I figured I was confusing them with the plastic Looney Toons characters I used to get there, but now that you've seconded (is that a word?) it, I'm thinking I was right in the first place. Confirmation anyone?

I recall this vividly because I bought one for me and bought one for a friend also, it was at an old Arco station that was owned by a transplanted family from Japan, none of whom spoke English, there was a hastily scrawled, in magic marker, sign in the office window that said "Japanese Arco" :bugs1:

This is a true story! In the town I live, Wallaceburg Ontario, there used to be a glass factory. It was around for 100 years before it was demolished a few years ago. Libbey Glass made drinking glasses, wine glasses, ashtrays etc. My grandfather worked there all of his life, my dad worked there until it shut down, and I have worked there myself in the past, as did my brother.
The point of this is - -Libbey Glass made those cartoon glasses that were tied in with movies and were given away in gas stations, Mcdonald's, Burger King and stuff. So for years when were kids, my dad would bring home complete sets of Looney Tunes mugs, muppets, smurfs, Star Wars - anything you can think of that was sold. We used them over the years and broke some, but we still had whole sets stored away. A few years ago my dad gave them away as presents - we didn't even think of the value of them. Then I finally discovered ebay I found out what some of these glasses were going for! My dad had a treasure for years and didn't know it.
Sorry for the long story but I thought you'd like it. If any of you have any of these "character" glasses, and you turn them over and look at the bottom and see a large written "L" - it was made by Libbey Glass here in Wallaceburg!
I want to see the original purse picture ! :p

I have some plastic cups that I got from ziploc when I was a kid. There are four and they all bear the happy birthday bugs logo. I have seen entire sets, brand new at my local antique mall for about 15-20 bucks. I believe I got them free after my mom sent away for them using UPC codes. I have also seen the glasses in the first post at the antique mall here, but I passed it up, and the next time I went back it was gone. I did however find a very nice pepsi glass with a 40's style dafy duck on it. Ebay is a great place to find stuff like that.

I have cups like this featuring THE LAND BEFORE TIME.Are they glasses made during the original Land Before Time movie? If they are, you're okay with me. If they're glasses made during all the crummy sequels, then I'll start worrying about you.

Where are they from? I still have the Pizza Hut Hand Puppets somewhere, and I remember that my video has a Pizza Hut commercial before the actual movie, so I wouldn't be surprised if they where from there, unless of course they're from one of the sequals. If so, I too would be worried.:D

I got the cups by mail order from Ziploc, I think it may be Dow Chemical Company that made them, even before I saw the movie.
They were offered at the time the first film in this series came out, I love the movie and have not bothered to watch the sequels.
Don Bluth's studio should have been real competition for Disney, BANJO THE WOODPILE CAT, SECRET OF N.I.M.H., LAND BEFORE TIME, and ROCK A DOODLE are all fun movies, yes, I _do_ like "Rock", even though it really seems to have gotten short-shrift from animation fans.

Back when my daughter was very young, a repair person walked off with one of our ziploc LBT cups. We still have littlefoot, cera, and ducky, but I'd like to, as a special present for my now-grown-up-and-married daughter, find a cup to complete the collection so I can give it to her for Christmas (she was devastated when the cup was originally lost). If anyone would like to part with one--or even a whole set, whatever it takes--please e-mail me. Thanks! :)
